ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondents to provide electricity connection to the petitioner's property in Survey No. 6256/6 situated at Kalyanaramapuram 1st Street, 6256/6, Poochi sandhu, Pudukkottai, Pudukkottai District, by the considering the Petitioner's application dated 02.07.2025.
2. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents submits that the land in question, where the petitioner has constructed a house seeking an electricity connection has been assigned for the purpose of providing housing plots for Office Assistant of Revenue Department in T.S.No.6256/3, 6, 7, 8, 9.
3. It is further submitted that the appeal is pending before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Pudukkottai at the behest of Gunasekar and 14 others, who are claiming similar rights to that of the petitioner. Since appeal is pending, no electricity connection can be granted to the petitioner. 2/5
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been residing at the said premise from 2020 and in the absence of the electricity connection, the petitioner is unable to lead a life of dignity.

Having considered the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, I am inclined to dispose of this writ petition by directing the second respondent to provide temporary electricity connection to the petitioner pending further orders in the appeal filed by the Gunasekar and others, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. In case the said Gunasekar and others are to be evicted, the petitioner shall surrender the property and the electricity connection that was provided to the petitioner provisionally shall also be disconnected.
