O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed for the writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to accept the petitioner's Destitute Widow Certificate dated 20.02.2016 and consequently consider and appoint the petitioner in the post of V.A.O against the reservation made for Destitute Widow in Notification No.19 of 2015 dated 12.11.2015 issued by TNPSC in accordance with the marks secured by the writ petitioner.

2.The brief facts of the case:

The petitioner loss her husband on 25.03.2004 and she submitted an application on 14.12.2015 for the post of Village Administrative Officer. The respondent TNPSC invited the applications for direct recruitment to 813 vacancies for the post of V.A.O. The contention of the petitioner is that she is not in possession of Destitute Widow Certificate when the application was uploaded and she could https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD).No.12782 of 2016 get the certificate only on 12.01.2016. The respondent filed counter and stated that the application is not in full form the same has to be rejected. The second contention of the respondent is the petitioner has secured less marks therefore even if the certificate is accepted the petitioner is not coming under the zone of consideration. In paragraph 6 of the counter affidavit, it has been stated that cut off marks for MBC/DC (DW) is 220.50 whereas the petitioner has secured only 150 marks.

3.Heard the learned counsel for both the sides. 4.This Court is of the considered view that the petitioner has secured very less marks and she is not coming under the zone of consideration. As rightly pointed out by the respondent the cut off mark is 220.50 for MBC/DC(DW) whereas the petitioner secured only 150 marks. Therefore, this Writ Petition is devoid from this. Hence the writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
