ORDER
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.
2. The petitioner's grandmother Azhagammal died on 17.12.2019. In that regard, Crime No.218 of 2019 was registered on the file of the Devakottai Town Police Station. The petitioner wants transfer of investigation.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner reiterated all the contentions set out in the memorandum of grounds.
4. The deceased lady was aged about 90 years. The complaint was given by none other than the petitioner's father. It appears that the old lady on account of certain reasons had set fire to herself. The local police after investigation had closed the case 1/3
as 'action dropped'. This Criminal Original Petition has been filed two years after the registration of the case.
5. The learned Government Advocate would suggest that since the relationship between the petitioner and his father came under strain, the petitioner has chosen to file this petition.
6. I do not want to go into the said issue. Suffice it to say that the materials placed by the petitioner before me are not sufficient to direct transfer of investigation. There is no merit in this petition.
7. This Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
