ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to conduct a survey of the petitioners' properties comprised in Survey Nos.178/7 and 178/10, measuring a total extent of 0.02.00 hectares, situated at Miruthiyanchappadai Veedu Village, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District.

Heard the arguments of Mr.V.G.Vallarasu Chezhiyan, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader, for the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.M.Vaikkam Karunanithi, learned Government Advocate (crl. side) for the third respondent. By consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. According to the petitioners, the aforesaid properties are Natham lands, and recognizing their long possession, Natham Pattas were issued in 2/5
their favour in Patta Nos.304 and 287. Relying upon the said documents, the petitioners submitted an application on 11.07.2025 in Application No. 2025/N123/21/008908, seeking survey of the subject properties. However, the said application has not been considered till date. Hence, the petitioners have approached this Court.
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who takes notice for respondents 1 and 2, would submit that the application submitted by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.
5. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 11.07.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioners, neighbouring land owners and other interested parties. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
