Seeking patta in Government Natham land in S.No. 139/24, Theli Village, Tiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District the petitioner has submitted a representation on 02.08.2018 and filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue patta to him.

2.Today (26.03.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader based on the written instructions submits that the Revenue Divisional officer is the authority to grant patta with regard to the Government Natham land. Based on the representation of the petitioner, the Tahsildar has made his recommendation on 26.06.2023 to the Revenue Divisional officer, Sivagangai.

3.Since the Revenue Divisional Officer has to take a decision on this issue, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivagangai is suo motu impleaded as respondent in this writ petition and the learned Additional Government Pleader is directed to take notice for the newly impleaded respondent and this writ petition is disposed of with a direction the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivagangai to take a decision on the petitioner's representation within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
