ORDER

This writ petition is filed for a Mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 23.08.2024 on merits and in accordance with law and to rectify the error committed in the UDR A-Register, in respect of the petitioner landed property's extent as 50 cents instead of 49.4 cents in Survey No.184/13 located at Soodiyur Revenue Village, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District. 2.Since the total extent of the petitioner's property had been wrongly given in the patta, she had made a representation to the respondent to correct the error committed in the UDR A-Registrar in respect of her property comprised in S.No.184/13 situated at Soodiyur Revenue Village, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District. She would further submit that the land exclusively belonged to her and the same being a Nanja land she has been cultivating on the said land. During the summer, there is a scarcity of water and she is unable to do agriculture. Therefore, she had dug a bore-well and continued the agriculture work. After digging the bore-well, she has approached the

electricity authority to get electricity connection and the Electricity Board had informed her that as per patta, she only owned an extent of 49.4 cents, which is below 50 cents of land and hence, she unable to get electricity connection. Thereafter, she came to know that there was a mistake committed during the UDR Scheme. Therefore, she immediately approached the respondents for correcting the said error and sent a representation dated 23.08.2024. The respondent did not take any steps as on date. Hence, the present petition is filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4.Considering the fact that the petitioner has made an application to correct the error made in the UDR A-Register and the same has also been received by the respondents, a Mandamus is issued to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 23.08.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after verifying the relevant records, within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
