This Criminal Original Petition had been filed to direct the learned Principal District Judge,Nagercoil to expedite the pending trial in S.C. No.140 of 2019 within the stipulated time.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the case is pending on the file of the Additional Sessions Court, Nagercoil. He would also submit that the case stands posted to 08.12.2022 for opening prosecution.

3. Considering the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the case stands posted to 08.12.2022 for opening of prosecution, the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Nagercoil after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence shall frame charges. After framing charges the learned Sessions Judge shall fix the date for trial and dispose the case. Further the learned Sessions Judge is also directed to follow the reported decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court reported in 2015 (1) MLJ (Crl) 288 (SC) [Vinod Kumar - vs- State of Punjab] and dispose the case as early as possible.

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
