O R D E R

This writ petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application and reimburse the medical expenses to the petitioner for the treatment taken by him, based on his application dated 19.08.2015 followed by the reminder dated 19.03.2016.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he is a retired State Government Employee and he is receiving pension from the Government of Tamil Nadu. The Government of Tamil Nadu is having medical assistance scheme for pensioners and the same is called as Tamil Nadu Government Pensioners Health Fund Scheme. While so, the petitioner was suffering from severe pain in his spine and he went to MIOT Hospital, Madurai and after medical checkup, he underwent a surgery.

W.P.(MD)No.14224 of 2016 application to the United India Insurance Company, for reimbursement of medical expenses and the same was returned stating that his retirement date was not mentioned. The petitioner has made a representation dated 19.08.2015 along with medical bill, after rectifying the defects pointed out by the respondent. Till date no action has been taken. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 19.08.2015 within the reasonable time as fixed by this Court.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has no serious objection for allowing the petitioner's application.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 19.08.2015 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
