ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to renew the petitioner's passport on his File No.MD1075151201125 dated 09.06.2025 based on her reply dated 24.07.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents 2 and 3 submits that the petitioner has been arrayed as Accused No.2 in Crime No.196 of 2020 dated 05.03.2020, on the file of the third respondent for offences under Sections 468 and 420 of the IPC.

3. The learned Government Advocate further submits that a charge sheet has been filed, pursuant to which case has been taken on file in C.C.No.586 of 2025 before the Judicial Magistrate, Madurai. 2/5

4. Since the case is pending against the petitioner, no positive direction can be issued at this stage. However, it is open to the petitioner to file a suitable application before the Judicial Magistrate, Madurai for appropriate relief to enable the first respondent to process the petitioner's passport application, if the same has not already been closed. In case application is closed, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh application after obtaining appropriate orders for processing of the passport application.
