PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to consider petitioner's representation dated 01.07.2025 and to provide additional building facility for Yagapudaiyanpatti Higher Secondary School.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to consider the petitioner's representation.

2. The representation sent by the petitioner reveals that a request is made for construction of additional building for the Yagapudaiyanpatti Higher Secondary School. Construction of an additional building in the school is an administrative decision to be taken by way of an assessment and requirement. Therefore, the High Court, in exercise of the powers of judicial review, cannot issue any direction involving financial allocation. More specifically, in the present case, for construction of additional building in the Government schools, it is for the department to initiate action, if required. 2/4
