The writ petition had been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking ordinary leave for a period of 40 days for the son of the petitioner, Iyyapan, Convict Prisoner No.4393, who is now confined at Central Prison, Palayamkottai. A representation was given on 19.08.2024.

2. Mr.A.Thiruvadi Kumar, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor forwarded the proceedings dated 22.09.2024 in No.612/cj. 2/2024 passed by the second respondent, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Madurai Zone, Madurai, by which proceedings, the representation of the petitioner had been rejected.

3. The learned Counsel for the petitioner stated that permission may be granted to question the said proceedings by way of

further writ petition.

4. This Writ Petition stands closed with liberty to file a fresh petition in accordance with law.
