This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a mandamus to respondent Nos.1, 4 and 5 herein to grant permission and to provide police protection for conducting temple festival of Puratasi month, including Puravi Edupu function and all other traditional functions at "Sri Kaveri Ayyanar Kovil" "Alagunatchiamman Kovil" and "Pandi Vinayagar Kovil" from 18.09.2023 to 26.09.2023 at V.Karisalkulam Village, Thiruchuli Taluk, Virudhunagar District, by considering the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.08.2023.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that since long time, the petitioner and the villagers have been conducting the temple festival along with all the villagers in "Sri Kaveri Ayyanar Kovil" "Alagunatchiamman Kovil" and "Pandi Vinayagar Kovil and this year also, they proposed to conduct a temple festival from 18.09.2023 to 26.09.2023, for 2/4
which, a representation has been given to the respondent Police on 23.08.2023. It is further submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the temple festival is being conducted every year without any untoward incidents.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) on consulting with the respondent Police submitted that if fresh application is filed by the petitioner before the respondent Police and the same will be considered and the respondent Police have no objections.
4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the petitioner to approach the respondent police and file fresh application, on which, the respondent police are directed to consider the same, subject to law and order problems and grant permission as per the guidelines of the police vide proceedings in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019.
