The writ of Mandamus has been instituted seeking a direction to the respondents to take effective steps to implement the Tamil Nadu Farmers Management of Irrigation Systems Act, 2000 by conducting elections to the Water Users Associations, Distributory Committees and Project Committees under the Act.

2.Since seven years have lapsed, the relief as such sought for deserves no merit consideration. However, if any grievance exists, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the competent authorities for redressal of the same. 3.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
