Respondents 1 to 6 Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the impugned proceedings in (LETTER No.206/RND-F1/2016, Dated 15.03.2016 on the file of the 3rd respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the third respondent to place an issue whether B.Sc., (Electronics) is equivalent to B.sc(Physics) before the equivalence committee again and sent the decision to the 1st respondent enable to pass an order.

O R D E R
This Writ Petition is filed seeking a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus against the proceedings in Letter No.206/RND-F1/2016, Dated 15.03.2016 issued by the third respondent and for a consequential direction to the third respondent to place an issue whether B.Sc., (Electronics) is equivalent to B.sc(Physics) before
the equivalence committee again and send the decision to the 1st respondent to enable to pass an order in the interest of justice.
2. On behalf of the respondents, counter affidavits have been filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1, 2 and 4, the learned counsel appearing for the third respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the fifth respondent and perused the materials available on record.

During the course of hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that at present, the respondents placed the issue before the equivalence committee of the Higher Education Department and now it is pending for consideration before the equivalence committee of the Education Department. After receipt
of the decision of the equivalence committee, the first respondent has to pass appropriate orders and as such in view of the subsequent developments the learned counsel for the petitioner sought to dispose of the Writ Petition placing the latest developments on record with a direction to the first respondent to take decision expeditiously after receipt of the report of the equivalence committee.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1, 2 and 4 and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent No.3 and the learned counsel for the respondent No.5 also endorsed the statement of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the issue is placed before the equivalence committee and it is under the consideration of the equivalence committee.
6. Considering the submissions of the respective counsels and in view of the facts and circumstances of the same, in my
considered view, it is appropriate to dispose of this Writ Petition without going into the merits of the case in the interest of justice by directing the first respondent to take appropriate decision as expeditiously as possible.
7. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the following directions:
i) The first respondent shall take steps to get the report/opinion of the equivalence committee as early as possible not beyond two months from today.
ii) After receipt of the report from the equivalence committee, the first respondent shall pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks thereafter.
8. No costs.
9. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
