This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus, directing the respondents 1,2 and 3 to declare M.Sc Spatial Information Technology for Disaster Management of Bharathidasan University is equivalent to M.Sc., Geography. 2/5

2.Today(15.11.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents by referring to the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.186, Higher Education(K1) Department, dated 15.12.2020 submits that the Government has clarified that M.Sc. Spatial Information Technology for Disaster Management offered by Government Arts College (Autonomous) Kumbakonam affiliated to Bharathidasan University is not equivalent to M.Sc. Geography for the purpose of employment in public services, in the light of the Government Order in G.O.(Ms) No.93, Higher Education (K2) Department, dated 30.05.2019. A copy of the Government order is also placed before this Court.

3.Recording the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is closed. No costs. 15.11.2024 NCC:Yes/No Index:Yes vrn 3/5
