Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to take immediate action to initiate the works of the construction of compound wall, filling the low lying area, and complete the park, library building and public toilet in the Thiru.Maaveeran Ondiveeran Memorial Manimandabam at Palayamkottai in Tirunelveli District on the basis of the report (2017-2018) 1/3
submitted by the respondent No.6, dated 24.07.2017 and complete the said works within the time stipulated by this Court, consequently to direct the respondents to provide drinking water supply, electricity connection and electric display board, in the memorial of Thiru Maaveeran Ondiveeran Manimandapam in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District, within the time stipulated by this Court. [Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Heard Mr.R.Alagumani, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.K.Baskara Pandian, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents. By consent on either side, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to initiate and complete the works of the construction of a compound wall, filling the low lying area, and complete the park, library building and public toilet in the Thiru.Maaveeran Ondiveeran Memorial Manimandabam at Palayamkottai in Tirunelveli District.
3. From the documents annexed in the typed set of papers, it could be seen that the representation of the petitioner has been considered and reply has also been given vide communication, dated 09.08.2019.
4. In our considered view, steps have been taken to preserve the property and in such matter, we cannot fix a specific time frame, but all that we can observe is that the Authority should take expeditious action and complete the procedure already initiated at the earliest.
5. In the above terms, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
