ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to provide police protection to the 3rd respondent and his officials for performing field work and to value the property situated in Natham Old S.No.245, New Natham S.No.508/9 situated at Kallal Village, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District measuring to an extent of 11448 sq. ft. by considering his representation dated 09.08.2025.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has purchased a property situated in Natham Old S.No.245, New Natham S.No.508/9 at Kallal Village, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District. The value of the property is worth above Rs.2 lakh. Therefore, the Joint-II Sub Registrar, Karaikudi, went to the spot to ascertain the value of the property. At that time, the Joint-II Sub Registrar has been prevented by co-sharers of the property and the Joint-II Sub Registrar is not taking any further action. Therefore, the document has not been released. He further 2/5

submits that the Joint-II Sub Registrar is afraid of lodging a complaint. Therefore, the petitioner has lodged a complaint for the incident said to have taken place on 08.07.2025. However, the respondent Police has not acted upon it. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that in the event, if a complaint is lodged by Joint II Sub Registrar, then, they would provide necessary police protection.

4. This Court considered the rival submissions made.

5. The petitioner claims that the Joint-II Sub Registrar, Karaikudi, has been prevented by the co-sharers of the property from discharging his duty. It is not necessary that the officials has to lodge a complaint. The Sub Registrar may not have any interest in lodging a complaint. However, the petitioner is affected in view of this conduct.

6. Therefore, the respondent Police is directed to entertain the petitioner's complaint and verify with the Joint-II Sub Registrar, Karaikudi, as to whether any such incident had taken place and thereafter, take further 3/5

course of action.

7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
