This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner's villagers to conduct Krishna Jeyanthi Festival of Arulmighu Krishnan Temple situated at Mettuneerethan Manthai at Mettuneerethan Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District and permit them to take procession of the deity on 06.09.2023 and to provide Annadhanam on 07.09.2023, by considering the representation of the petitioner's villagers dated 31.08.2023.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), on instructions, would submit that permission was already granted by the second respondent/Inspector of Police, Sholavandan Police Station, Madurai District and he has also produced a copy of the said communication before this Court. 2/4
