O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking monetary compensation for the custodial death of one Syed Mohamed.
2. The petitioner is the mother of the victim who died in police custody.
3. From the counter affidavit filed by the first and second respondent it appears that the said compensation of Rs.5,00,000/- was sanctioned as interim measure. Therefore it is appropriate to direct the first respondent to consider the request of the petitioner dated 15.10.2014 who is now aged about 54 years to grant adequate compensation for the custodial death of her son.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that monetary compensation alone may not be adequate. The State should also provide a job for one of the family members of the victim.
5. In the representation dated15.10.2014, the request of the petitioner was to provide adequate compensation. It is needless to say, compensation may either be monetary or employment or both. Therefore if any further representation from the petitioner is received with necessary particulars within a period of 30 days from today seeking additional or alternate relief of employment the same to be considered and disposed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
