Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, by directing the third respondent to mutate the patta in the name of the petitioner in Patta No.150 in Survey No.100/3 situated at Sengamangalam Village, Peravurani Taluk, Thanjavur District based on the petitioner's application dated 05.10.2021 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

Heard Mr.S.Mohamed Suhail, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Kameswaran, learned Government Advocate who takes notice on behalf of all the respondents. 1/3

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the third respondent/the Tahsildar, Peravurani, Thanjavur District to mutate the patta in the name of the petitioner in Patta No.150 in Survey No.100/3 situated at Sengamangalam Village, Peravurani Taluk, Thanjavur District. The petitioner had given an application dated 05.10.2021.

3. The petitioner had purchased the land measuring 0.20.5 acres in Patta No.150 in Survey No.100/3 in Sengamangalam Village, Peravurani Taluk, Thanjavur District. He had purchased the land by a registered sale deed on 23.03.1999. However, the patta still stands in the name of the vendor of the petitioner. An application had been filed seeking transfer of patta to the name of the petitioner.

4. It is stated by Mr.S.Kameswaran, learned Government Advocate that the said representation of the petitioner is pending on the file of the fourth respondent/ The Zonal Deputy Tahsildar, Peravurani, Thanjavur District.

5. A Mandamus is directed to the fourth respondent, to act on the said representation, issue notice to the petitioner, if required, examine the documents of the petitioner and do the needful within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. This Writ Petition is allowed on the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs.
