O R D E R

This writ petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation, dated 15.07.2016 regarding her appointment for the post of Professor in Economics Within a Specified time frame fixed by this Court.

2.The case of the petitioner is that she is working as an Associate Professor in Economics in the Fatima College, Madurai. As per the advertisement, dated 06.06.2012 of the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, the petitioner offered her as a candidate for selection to the post of Professor in Economics through proper channel. However, the petitioner was not selected, but one Dr.P.Geetha Rani alone was selected for the aforesaid post. In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation on 15.07.2016 to the respondent. So far no order has been passed. Hence, the present writ petition is filed.

W.P.(MD)No.16877 of 2016 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2016, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent has filed a detailed counter affidavit and it appears that without challenging the appointment of the said Geetha Rani, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking an appointment. 5.In view of the above, the prayer sought for in the writ petition cannot be granted. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to work out her remedy in the manner known to law.
