Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to rotate and reserve the post of Panchayat President for Kallidaikurichi Town Panchayat, Tirunelveli District in favour of scheduled community for the period of 2021-2031 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 29.07.2021 and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a time frame to be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE] The writ petition has been filed seeking direction on the respondents for consideration of the representation made by the petitioner on 29.07.2021. It is for reservation of the wards in favour of the Scheduled Community for the period 2021-2031. It is stated that the representation made by the petitioner has not been considered or decided by the respondents and thus, appropriate https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

W.P.(MD)No.22476 of 2021 direction be given for its consideration.

2. We find prayer of the writ petition to be acceptable in the facts and circumstances of the case. The representation was given by the petitioner on 29.07.2021 in regard to reservation of the wards. The respondents are expected to pass appropriate orders thereon.

3. In view of the above, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 29.07.2021 expeditiously and take a decision thereupon, with a copy to the petitioner.

4. There will be no order as to costs.
