ORDER

This writ petition is filed for a mandamus to the respondent to reissue the passport to the petitioner in Application in File No. MD1075396199425 dated 25.07.2025 (Old Passport Number F9742035 dated 13.10.2006 Issued by Trichy Passport authority) by considering the representation given by the Petitioner dated 12.08.2025.

2. The case of the petitioner is that her application for re-issuance of a passport is pending, since her husband's name is mentioned as A.Ahamed Ibrahim, whereas it was mentioned as A.Shajahan in her previous passport.

3. Heard the learned counsels on either side.

4. Considering the fact that police verification reveals that the

petitioner's husband is A.Ahamed Ibrahim and the petitioner has produced the letter from the Rajasingamangalam Masjid Executive Committee stating that the marriage between the petitioner and her erstwhile husband A.Shajakhan has been dissolved, along with the certificate of marriage under the Special Marriage Act, which would clarify the two queries raised by the 1st respondent regarding the difference in the name of the spouse. The petitioner has also produced non-traceable certificate.

5. Therefore, considering the fact that clarification has been given to the 1st respondent, the 1st respondent is directed to take steps to issue passport to the petitioner within a period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, this Writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
