ORDER
The writ petition has been filed in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, seeking a direction to the respondents to sanction and pay the marriage assistance amount of Rs.50,000/- under the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Assistance Scheme implemented by the Social Welfare Department. The third respondent is actually the District Social Welfare Officer of the Madurai District. 2.Mr.N.Satheeshkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of all the respondents. The learned Additional Government Pleader pointed out the information given to the petitioner, K.Kannagi, on 18.11.2020 with respect to the same relief sought and in the said information it had been stated that the application of the petitioner is in Serial No.128.
Naturally, to maintain some fairness among all applicants, the scheme will have to be extended only in accordance with the seniority of the applications. If the petitioner's application number is serialized as 128, then the petitioner will have to wait till the other 127 are extended the said benefit. The petitioner cannot give any reason https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.
W.P.(MD) No.22520 of 2021 why she should over step the other 127 applicants. That is not possible.
3.A direction is given to the respondents to maintain the order of seniority so far as the applicants are concerned. The marriage of the daughter of the petitioner was conducted in the year 2017 and it is after four years that the present writ petition has been filed. I am confident that the scheme would be extended in accordance with the seniority and whenever the funds are sanctioned, they would be disbursed.
4.With the above observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
