PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to take appropriate action on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 01.12.2018. For Petitioner :

[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE] Prayer in this writ petition is to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to take appropriate action, on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 01.12.2018.

2. According to the petitioner, the private respondents are letting out sewage water from their houses in the public place of the locality, which causes environmental pollution and creates health hazards. That apart, the sewage water from the house of the private respondents finally reaches Vadivelkarai Canal. Due to the same, the water bodies also got polluted. Ventilating the same, the petitioner made a representation, dated 01.12.2018

to the respondents 1 to 4. However, no effective steps were taken based on the petitioner's representation. Hence, this writ petition.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4, on instructions, would submit that pursuant to the instructions given by the third respondents, now, the private respondents are not letting out the sewage water in the open place, as alleged by the petitioner and it has been stopped. To that effect, he has also produced a copy of the communication received from the third respondent, dated 26.07.2024, before this Court.
