Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents No. 2 to take appropriate departmental action as against the Respondents Nos. 1/6

3 and 4 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.06.2025 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to take appropriate departmental action as against the respondents 3 and 4 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.06.2025 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner, while undertaking renovation work of his house , surrendered the electricity service connection to the third respondent, and it was transferred from tariff 5 to tariff 6. However, the third respondent disconnected the electricity service connection stating that there is a civil dispute pending. In the meanwhile, the petitioner completed his renovation work and thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation to change the tariff from tariff 6 to tariff 5. While this being so, the 2/6

petitioner received a huge electricity charges. The petitioner made a representation in this regard and the petitioner was also called for enquiry. The petitioner appeared for enquiry and he was instructed to submit his written explanation. However, till date, no order was passed. Hence, the present writ petition came to be filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that this Court may direct the respondents to conclude the enquiry proceedings as per the letter dated 09.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the official respondents to conclude the enquiry proceedings pending in Letter No. 1528/SePo/Vini/Kipu/Thili/Unia/nime/u.1/Ko.Pugaar/2025 dated 09.07.2025, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the respondents to consider the same on its own merits. 3/6

5. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
