ORDER
The petitioners seeking permission to conduct temple festival have submitted a representation and has filed this petition. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submits the temple belongs to six villages and they have been conducting this festival from time immemorial. The 3rd respondent from Nanamadai village is creating problem and therefore, the respondent police have not granted permission so far. He further submits that they are not having any objection for other villagers to worship in the temple, but they are not inclined to give any right to them.
3.The learned Government Advocate (crl side) appearing for the respondent police submits that there are two groups in the village between two communities. Therefore, they have not granted 2/5
permission. He further submits that in the year 2014 a peace committee meeting was conducted and a resolution was passed. Based on that resolution temple festival has been conducted in the recent years. 4.This court considered the rival submissions made. 5.The petitioners claim that they are conducting temple festival in Akavayal village from time immemorial and people from Nanamadai village are creating problem. The respondent police shall permit the petitioners to conduct the temple festival as done in the previous years. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
