PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.16 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/Accused herein, who was arrested on 29.07.2023 for the alleged offence under Sections 387 & 506(i) of IPC and Section 66E, 67 of Information Technology Act, in Crime No.16 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant lodged a complaint stating that frequent messages were received from mobile phone No.9407096804. On one day, he viewed the above said messages. At that time, one Neelam Guptha appeared in the video in an inappropriate manner. Later he received intimidating calls, stating that the details of all the persons, who are in contact with the above said person, will be uploaded through social media and demanded to deposit money in account Nos.057410030964, 501006105523673 & 5100610686852. Fearing the above said disclosure of his name, he deposited money in the above said account numbers. The above said criminal intimidation, threat and extortion of money continued for several months. At one point of time, he was unable to bear the above said continuous torture. Hence, he lodged the complaint. 3.It appears that the petitioner belonged to Rajastan. By threatening the victims through video calls extorted money through various deposit mode. Later withdrew the amount.

4.Considering the seriousness of the allegation, this Court is of the view that if the petitioner is released on bail, there is every likelihood of absconding and hampering the investigation. Investigation is in initial stage. He is not entitled for any discretionary relief at this stage. This petition deserves to be dismissed. 2/3
