ORDER

The present writ petition is filed for a direction to the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 27.12.2016 within the time frame to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that during the pendency of the disciplinary proceedings, the petitioner attained the age of superannuation and was permitted to retire from service on 30.11.2016, by the respondent Bank. The second respondent, by order dated 25.10.2016, imposed punishment in the disciplinary proceedings. Challenging the order of punishment, the petitioner filed an appeal on 27.12.2016 before the first respondent and the same is pending.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner in the writ petition and the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, without deciding the issue on merits, the first respondent is directed to consider and dispose the appeal dated 27.12.2016 filed by the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
