[Cause title amended vide Court order dated 22.03.2019 in W.M.P(MD) No.755/18] PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents i.e., the Commissioner of Madurai Corporation, Madurai, the District Environmental Engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Madurai and the Executive Engineer, Distribution Circle, TANGEDCO, Madurai to take tangible action for disconnecting the electricity connection to the above said manufacturer which is functioning illegally without shifting the burden from one office to another within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.) This writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to initiate action against the illegal functioning of the fourth respondent - sawmill.

2. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the third respondent submitted that there is no such sawmill functioning as on date.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Madurai Corporation as well as the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board jointly submitted that appropriate action would be taken against the fourth respondent - sawmill, if it carries out any illegal operations in future.

4. Recording the above said submissions of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 1 to 3, this Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
