For Petitioner : Mr.M.Eswaran For R1 and R2 : Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar Additional Public Prosecutor O R D E R This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents Police to provide police protection to the petitioner and his shop situated at Door No.10, Cumbum Municipality Bus Stand, Cumbum, Theni District, basing on a representation of the petitioner dated 02.08.2023.

It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that the petitioner has borrowed a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- from the unofficial respondent and he has been paying the interest regularly. However, in the month of June, he has not paid the interest on account of unavoidable circumstances and thereby, the respondent No.3 has been threatening the petitioner with dire consequences. Hence, the petitioner has given a representation on 02.08.2023 before the first respondent. But the first respondent Police have not taken any action and thereby, he sought for suitable directions.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents Police submits that the representation given by the petitioner on 02.08.2023 is registered as current paper and the enquiry was conducted. Both the petitioner and the third respondent appeared before the respondents Police on 11.09.2023 and reported that both of them have settled the disputes and basing on the said statement, the representation of the petitioner has already been closed.

4. Since both the petitioner and the respondent No.3 are stated to have settled the disputes, basing on which, the representation of the petitioner has been closed, no further directions can be given.
