ORDER
The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to issue a patta to the petitioner in respect of the land in S.No.1253, measuring 12 acres, situated at Thenmalai Oorani, Sirumalai Village, Dindigul Taluk, within the Dindigul Joint II Sub-Registration limit, Dindigul Registration District, Dindigul District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.06.2025.
2. Heard the arguments of Mr.T.Selvan, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.D.Nedunchezian learned Government Advocate, for the respondent. By consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. According to the petitioner, she has been in possession and enjoyment of the subject property for several years. She submitted a representation before the respondent on 17.06.2025 seeking issuance of patta, which has not been considered. Hence, she has approached this Court.
4. The learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondent, submits that as per the Village 'A' Register, the subject property is classified as 'Government Poramboke'. In view of the ban on assignment 2/4
of land in mountain areas, as per G.O.Ms.No.1168, Revenue Department, dated 25.07.1989, the petitioner's representation cannot be considered.

In view of the stand taken by the respondent, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, is inclined to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.08.2025 and communicate the decision to the petitioner in writing within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
