O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents Police to provide adequate police protection for entering into Patchanachi Amman Temple, situated at Mangalapatti Village, Sirnkattupatti, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District, during the time of conducting festival which is scheduled to be held on 11.09.2023, on the strength of the representation dated 01.09.2023 given by the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondents Police submits that the respondent No.4 has filed a representation before the Police against the petitioner and there are disputes between the petitioner and the respondent No.4 in respect of management of the Temple and the matter was referred to the Tahsildar where consensus could not be arrived at. Thereafter, the matter was again referred to the Revenue Divisional Officer and the enquiry is going on. 2/5

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has no objection to conduct festival along with the respondent No.4 if they are intending to conduct the festival on 15.09.2023.

4. Since the representation made by the petitioner to the respondents Police to grant permission for conducting festival on 11.09.2023 is being expired, the petitioner is permitted to file a fresh application before the respondents Police, on which, the respondents Police shall make an enquiry and in case if the petitioner and the respondent No.4 are intending to conduct the festival jointly, permission may be granted to them by imposing usual condition.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
