to the petitioners in 12 equal monthly installments from March, 2016 without interest for the belated payment of the same as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Article 14 and 21 of Constitution of India and consequently directing the Respondents to settle the commuted value of pension of the petitioners in one lump sum with interest at the rate of 18% per annum payable the date of retirement of the petitioners to till date of payment of the said amount.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents has produced a letter in Ref.TNSTC/PDK/LS/SM/177, dated 17.06.2022 and submitted that the prayer sought for by the petitioner has now became infructuous. The above said submission is recorded.

2. Based on the aforesaid letter, dated 17.06.2022, the instant Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
