ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Tahsildar to carry out corrections in the revenue records.
2. According to the learned Counsel for the petitioner, Survey No. 317/2A measuring about 0.24 ares situated at Melakudi Village, Lalkudi Taluk, Trichy District is her separate property. A patta was also granted in her, namely, Periyammal. However, during UDR proceedings, the patta has been incorporated as Periyammal Pidariyamman Kovil Tharkala Nambagar. In other words, the private property of the writ petitioner has been converted into the property of a Temple. According to the petitioner, the Temple is located in the adjacent survey number and the Temple has nothing to do with the property in dispute. 2/4
3. It is the allegation of the petitioner that during UDR proceedings, such an error has been crept in. In case, if the mistake has happened during UDR proceedings, the competent authority will be only, the District Revenue Officer, Trichy and not the third respondent herein. Hence, the prayer sought for in the writ petition cannot be granted. However, the writ petitioner is at liberty to approach the District Revenue Officer, Trichy with appropriate application for the rectification of the alleged mistake.
4. With the above said observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 02.11.2022 Index :
