PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to conduct detailed enquiry into the death of the petitioner's husband, namely Prasanth, on 06.02.2021 at Jembunathapuram Police Station, Trichy in Crime No.24 of 2021 and pay the necessary compensation to the petitioner within the stipulated time by this Court on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 12.08.2021. 1/4

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to conduct a detailed enquiry into the death of the petitioner's husband, namely, Prasanth, on 06.02.2021 and pay necessary compensation to the petitioner within the stipulated time basing on the representation given by the petitioner, dated 12.08.2021.

2. During the course of arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner requested the Court to permit him to withdraw this petition as he will file an application before the National Legal Services Authority basing on the compensation scheme for Women Victims / Survivors of Sexual Assault / other crimes 2018.

3. Considering the request of the petitioner, the petitioner is permitted to withdraw this writ petition. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, in case, if the petitioner feels that he could not get the compensation as under the Legal Services Authority Scheme, he is at liberty to approach the Court by filing appropriate petition. On filing of such application, 2/4

the National Legal Services Authority is directed to expedite and dispose of the request made by the petitioner. No costs.
