ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking permission for the petitioner to enter the seashore and to carry on fishing activities at Adiramapattinam Seashore, situated in Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 11.07.2023.

2. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the official respondents submitted that the official respondents have no role in the matter and that they have not prevented the petitioner from entering the seashore. The allegations have been made only against the private respondents.

3. Though notice has been served on the private respondents, they have not chosen to defend the writ petition in any manner whatsoever. Therefore, the petitioner is at liberty to carry on his avocation at the site mentioned in the petition. If any private individual or group of persons exercises any extraconstitutional authority by preventing the petitioner from carrying on his avocation, it is open to the petitioner to lodge a complaint before the seventh

respondent. Upon receipt of such complaint, the seventh respondent shall register a case, take appropriate action in accordance with law, and ensure protection to the petitioner to enable him to carry on his avocation.

4. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
