O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to provide Police protection to the petitioner and his family members.
2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner and his family members being washer-men have been using a place for conducting of funeral rites of the persons passes away. The unofficial respondents however stated to have approached them, demanded money and attempted to evict them from the premises. When the petitioner has refused to pay money, unofficial respondent Nos.3 and 4 have allegedly threatened the petitioner with dire consequences. In respect of which, the petitioner has filed a complaint before the respondent Police on 14.08.2023, since no action has been taken so far, thereby, sought for suitable directions.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submits that the complaint of the petitioner is registered as C.S.R.No.561 of 2023 and enquiry is 2/4
being initiated. It is submitted that, during the course of enquiry, in case, if the complaint is proved, they would take stern action against the unofficial respondent Nos.3 and 4 and requested short time to complete the investigation.
4. In view of the submissions made by both sides and on perusal of records, this petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to dispose of C.S.R.No.561 of 2023 as quickly as possible not later than two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
