ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioners have been visited with orders under Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act. It is obvious that the property covered by the impugned order is a water body. All that the petitioners seek is grant of reasonable time to vacate. We grant four months time from the date of receipt of copy of this order to remove the encroachments. This benefit will enure to the petitioners only if the petitioners file an undertaking affidavit to the above effect before the Tahsildar, Paramakudi. The petitioners are given liberty to submit applications before the District Collector, Ramanathapuram seeking allotment of alternative sites. If the applicants are eligible, the same will be favourably considered by the District Collector within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the applications. 2/4

3.This writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
