O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN, J.) This Habeus Corpus Petition has been filed to direct the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to produce the person or body of the detenu by name Perlin Mary, W/o.Sekar, aged about 45 years before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. The petitioner is the husband of the detenu. According to the petitioner the detenue/his wife was missing from 05.08.2025. At that time the petitioner was in abroad and the two children born to them were under the custody of the detenue. The first daughter got married and the second daughter was studying nursing under the custody of the paternal uncle. After missing of the detenue, the sister of the petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent and the same was registered in Crime No. 165 of 2025 under the caption 'Woman Missing'. Even after registration of the First Information Report no progress has

been made by the respondent police. When the petitioner returned to India he approached this Court by way of filing this petition.

3. Pending this petition, the second respondent filed a status report.

4. On perusal of the said status report it is revealed that from the date of registration of the First Information Report call details records of the detenue has been traced out and it shows several locations. Further she seems to be went missing along with one Suresh and immediately after filing this petition the said Suresh also committed suicide. However the second respondent could not trace her so far.

5. Admittedly the detenue is aged about 45 years and that she went along with one Suresh and the said Suresh also committed suicide. Even thereafter the detenue does not want to return to her husband.

6. In view of the same the second respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file final report in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order

7. With the above direction, the Habeus Corpus Petition stands disposed of.
