ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking quashing of the impugned FIR in Crime No.208 of 2025 for the alleged offences under Section 191(2), 329(4), 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), 351(2) of BNS, 2023, Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002, Section 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) and 3(2)(va) of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that suspecting involvement of the defacto complainant in the missing of a girl in the petitioners' family, they abused the defacto complainant in filthy language, humiliated him and attacked him and thus committed the aforesaid offences. Pending investigation, the petitioners and the defacto complainant entered into a compromise and had filed a joint compromise memo before this Court.

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant are present in person and identified by M/s.V.Sutha, Sub Inspector of Police, Aundipatti Police Station, Theni District. The defacto complainant confirms the averments made in the 5/7

compromise memo and states that the impugned FIR may be quashed in terms of the compromise.

5. In view of the aforesaid compromise and considering the nature of allegations and the offences alleged, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.208 of 2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
