PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the Learned Special Judge for the exclusive Trial of Pocso Act Cases, Thoothukudi to complete the trial in Spl.S.C.No.84 of 2020 in speedy manner within a time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court. O R D E R This petition is filed seeking for expeditious disposal of Spl.S.C.No. 84 of 2020, pending on the file of Learned Special Judge for the exclusive Trial of Pocso Act Cases, Thoothukudi, cognizance of which were taken for the offences under Sections 5(i), 5(m), 5(n), 6, 7 and 8 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

2.It is submitted by the learned Counsel for the petitioner / de-facto complainant that she is the mother of the victim, and that in spite of examining the witnesses in chief, the trial has not been proceeded as required under POCSO Act, therefore, sought for suitable directions to the learned Sessions Court. 3.Learned Government Advocate [Crl. Side] submits that the case has been posted on 05.10.2023 for cross examination of P.W.1. 4.As seen from the proceedings sheet filed before the Court, nothing is mentioned as to why the cross examination of P.W.1 was deferred at the first instance. Considering the submissions made by the learned Counsel for the 2/4

petitioner and taking into consideration that there are 25 witnesses, this petition is disposed of, with a direction to the trial Court to expedite the trial and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible, not later than six [6] months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
