ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.07.2023 and in the said representation, the petitioner has requested the respondent to settle Pongal Bonus, Special allowance for handicapped person and annual increment etc from the year 1994.

2. The petitioner is working as Motor Pump Operator in Kallukoottam Town Panchayat. Originally, he joined as Street Light Switch Operator in Kallukoottam Town Panchyat on 01.01.1993. According to the petitioner, he was regularized in service. However, according to the petitioner, the benefits like Pongal Bonus, Special allowance for handicapped person and annual increment etc was not settled. Hence, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondent on 22.07.2023. Since the representation has not been considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. Till date, counter affidavit has not been filed by the respondent. 2/5

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that no prejudice would be caused if the petitioner's representation is considered on merits and in accordance with law within a stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.

Considering the request of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to direct the respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 22.07.2023 requesting the respondent to settle Pongal Bonus, Special allowance for handicapped person and annual increment etc from the year 1994 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 22.07.2023 seeking for settlement of the benefits like Pongal Bonus, Special allowance for handicapped person and annual increment etc from the year 1994 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
