ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to register the death of the petitioner's deceased grandfather namely, Balan, who died on 28.12.2023 as his death was not registered within the prescribed time and to issue the death certificate by disposing the application of the petitioner dated 12.02.2024 within a time to be fixed by this Court. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Gandhiraj, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents and perused the materials available on record. 3.By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

4.It is the case of the petitioner that the grandfather of the petitioner died on 28.12.2023, however, his death was not registered. Hence, seeking to register the death of the petitioner's grandfather and to issue death certificate, the petitioner has made an application before the authorities concerned on 12.02.2024. Since the same was not considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

5.In view of the limited scope of the writ petition, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court directs the authorities concerned to consider the application of the petitioner, dated 12.02.2024, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders after hearing the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
