PRAYER:Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to reclassify and issue patta in the name of the petitioner for the land in Survey No. 1/4
317/3 extending to 2 acres and 23 cents at Ulagupitchanpatti, Thiruvathavur Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District as "Wet Land" (Pujai) instead of "Tarisu Land".

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus to reclassify the land and issue patta in the name of the petitioner. 2.Ms.A.V.Kanimozhi, learned counsel enters appearance on behalf of the petitioner by way of change of vakalat and she undertakes to file vakalat by tomorrow, i.e., 06.02.2025.
3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the official respondents. 4.Considering the scope of the writ petition and after hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate for the official respondents, this writ petition is disposed of in the following manner: 2/4
"The petitioner made an application for reclassification of the subject land as early as on 14.10.2016 and consequently to issue patta in the petitioner's name. Admittedly the said application has not been disposed of as on date. In view of the same, the second respondent shall conduct an enquiry after affording an opportunity to the petitioner and pass orders in accordance with law and on merits within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
