O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1 to 3.

2. Considering the nature of relief to be granted, issuance of notice to the fourth respondent is dispensed with.

3. The petitioner belongs to Devendrakula Velalar community. He fell in love with one Surekha who belongs to Naidu community. The alliance was opposed by the girl's parents. Therefore, Surekha left her parents' house and joined the petitioner and both got married on 14.12.2021 at Thirumangalam.

4. The learned Government Advocate states that the performance of marriage was facilitated by the police personnel attached Thirumangalam All Women police station.

5. The petitioner states that he is apprehending threat to his life and limb at the hands of his in-laws.

6. The Hon'ble Supreme Court held in more than one case that the casteless society is a constitutional goal and intercaste marriages are the only way forward.

7. Therefore, the second respondent is directed to ensure the physical safety of the petitioner and his wife. The second respondent may call upon the fourth respondent to give an undertaking also.

8. With this direction, this criminal original petition is allowed.
