ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the Final Report filed for the offence C.C.No.l of 2023 for the alleged offence under Sections 147, 148, 341, 342, 294(b), 323, 355, 506(2) of IPC and Section 25(l)(a) of the Arms Act. 1/10

2. The allegation in the final report is that the defacto complainant is an Auto driver; that on 19.08.2022 about 08.25 p.m., the petitioner along with other accused waylaid the defacto complainant on account of prior enmity, attacked the defacto complainant with hands and sticks; threatened him using a knife and thus committed the aforesaid offence.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the second respondent have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. Both of them have filed a joint compromise memo dated 13th August, 2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows: 2/10

4. The petitioner (Aadhar No.6355 9775 7590) and the second respondent (Aadhar No. 5990 7940 5474) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.S.Krishamoorthy, SSI, Devakottai Town Police Station. Both the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Though A4 alone filed this quash petition and entered into the compromise, the defacto complainant would submit that the entire charge sheet may be quashed on account of the compromise.

6. In view of the compromise arrived at between the parties and the nature of allegations, the relationship between the parties and the dispute is private in nature, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose will serve in keeping the impugned final report pending in the trial Court. Accordingly, the final report is quashed and this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. 17.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No PJL 8/10
