ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.330 of 2025 dated 30.07.2025 on the file of the first respondent Police, which was registered for the offences under Section 296(b), 118(1) and 351(3) of BNS, 2023.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioner along with others abused the defacto complainant/second respondent in filthy language and also assaulted him and thus committed the aforesaid offences.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the second respondent are close relatives and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows: 2/7

4. The petitioner, namely, Mohamed Nawas (Aadhaar No.2077 9647 8794) and the defacto complainant, namely, Abdul (Aadhaar No.6494 1545 9766) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.S.A.Subramanian, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Kallidaikurichi Police Station, Tirunelveli District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.330 of 2025 dated 30.07.2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. 10.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Lm 5/7
