(Order of the Court was made by PUSHPA SATHYANARAYANA,J.) The Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 & 2 to conduct Page 1/3
enquiry and to take appropriate and immediate action by considering the petitioner's representation dated 15.03.2021. 2.Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
3.By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission. 4.According to the petitioner, nearly 335 quarries in Karur District are continuing to extract minerals even though their lease period is over and without paying the seigniorage amount and more than hundred quarries had again applied for permission and the respondents have granted Mining Plan approval for these quarries. In this regard, the petitioner has given a representation on 15.03.2021, which has not been considered so far. 5.Considering the fact that the representation of the petitioner is pending consideration, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 15.03.2021, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
