ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's appeal bearing Na.Ka.No.B11/5330/2025, dated 06.02.2025, which is pending before the respondent, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner belongs to the Yadava community. A land measuring an extent of 48 cents comprised in S.No.187/5, situated in Venneeryaikal Village, Vilankulathoor Group, Muthukulathur Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, was purchased in the names of 16 individuals representing the community through a registered sale deed bearing Doc.No.2419 of 1928, on the file of the Sub Registrar, Muthukulathur. The land has been used as a burial ground for the members of the said community. However, during the implementation of the UDR Scheme, the classification of the land was altered to "Mayanam" (burial ground) without reference to the Yadava community, i.e., "Yadava Mayanam." Hence, the petitioner submitted 2/5

an appeal dated 06.02.2025 to the respondent, enclosing the original sale deed and supporting documents, seeking correction of the classification in the revenue records. Since the said appeal has not been disposed of till date, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the appeal of the petitioner will be considered and disposed of in accordance with law.

In view of the above submission, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal bearing Na.Ka.No.B11/5330/2025 dated 06.02.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits, within a period of twelve (12) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties, if any.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
